Welcome to CAT ON THE MOON

Cat DayCare

Cat On The Moon offers the best cat daycare with a pool*, complete with a variety of services and modern facilities. Each day’s agenda includes hours of playtime for your pet, including social time with other cats. Here, there’s no need for a cat walker! We have multiple spacious areas that give your cat the freedom to run and play. Plus, many locations have a pool.

Your cat just wants to play, but we understand that your main concern with cat daycare may be the safety and well-being of your pet. Our partners get to know each pet individually to provide the best care for each unique guest. We’re not cat walkers. We are professional cat lovers!

Small Cat Daycare

We have a special area designated just for our small cat group — it has a big grassy yard with splash pools, lots of engaging toys, an inside air-conditioned room with play toys and lounge beds, and they even have their own covered turf area. Cats in our small cat pack enjoy socializing with their doggie friends, interacting with our daycare counselors, getting lots of exercise through chasing their friends and fetching toys; and going for a splash in the pool followed by a few rounds of zoomies around the small dog daycare field. Small Dog Daycare is typically recommended for dogs weighing 5-35 pounds. Drop off as early as 6:30am and pick up as late as 6:30pm! A la carte Rate: $36/day Discounted Punchcard Rate: $31/day

Large Cat Daycare

Our large dog daycare program is a high energy, interactive outdoor dog park with acres of grassy yards to stretch out and run, splash pools and misting sprinklers, awesome toys and a covered turf and pavilion area for relaxation. Dogs in our large dog pack engage in chase, wrestling, swimming and retrieving with their doggie friends and our counselors, providing them with a day full of mental and physical stimulation. Our goal is to send you home with a tired, happy pup! Large Dog Daycare is typically recommended for dogs weighing 35 pounds and up. Drop off as early as 6:30am and pick up as late as 6:30pm! A la carte Rate: $36/day Discounted Punchcard Rate: $31/day

Group Play
The Rover Oaks Group Play program is designed to provide a more structured experience for dogs who are lodging at Rover Oaks, as well as those who prefer a smaller group of dogs to play with, and includes more individualized attention, enrichment opportunities, and a more customized experience for each dog. Sessions are given in intervals throughout the day to allow the dogs to rest between playing with their friends. A la carte: $46/day Discounted Punch Card Rate: $41/day
Junior Daycare
The Rover Oaks Junior Daycare program focuses on our puppies 4 months to 12 months old. Puppies do not need to be spayed or neutered until they are 12 months old. Females may not participate during their heat cycle. By keeping them in a group setting of no more than 15 dogs, we control their environment to ensure they learn proper group play behaviors.

A la carte: $46/day

Discounted Punch Card Rate: $41/day

Our Daycare Team

Our team of dog care professionals provide quality care in a safe and supervised environment. Daycare staff are extensively trained in pack management, canine communication, body language, and behavior. They make special considerations of dogs in every playgroup, helping them learn how to behave in social situations, be more comfortable around new dogs, and respond to basic commands from counselors.

Daycare Schedule
Regular Daycare Drop-Off Schedule 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Saturday 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM Sunday

Pets can be dropped off anytime during those hours, and all pets must be picked up by closing time. Pets who are lodging overnight can schedule sessions in group play after they have passed a Social Evaluation. Please contact the Doggie Daycare department at Rover Oaks Houston for more information regarding the specific schedule for daycare attendees at that location. Holidays may affect regular daycare hours.

Top 7 Reasons Your Dog Should Attend Daycare
  • A Good Solution For Busy Owners. Daycare will keep your dog active and fit instead of leading the bored life at home. Plus, they come home worn out and ready for a snuggle sesh!

  • Exercise & Socialization. Your dog will have the opportunity to meet and play with new dogs and learn how to properly socialize and interact with other dogs.

  • Human Contact. During the day while you’re away at work, your dog doesn’t have to stay home and feel lonely. Our daycare staff will give them lots of lovin’!

  • Expert-Supervised Playtime. Our experienced daycare team have had training to interpret dog body language so they can ensure all the dogs are comfortable. Dogs are separated into play groups by size and play style to create the safest and most enjoyable environment. and closely monitored with a ratio of 1 staff for every 12-15 dogs.

  • Relief From Boredom. If your dog tends to excessively bark, chew, dig or destruct things around your house while you are away, they are probably lacking sufficient outlets for their energy. Daycare provides tons of stimulation and exercise, which curbs the problem behaviors that can stem from boredom.

  • Largest Outdoor Space. Our outdoor play spaces are larger than any other facility inside the I-610 loop.

  • Award-Winning Daycare. Rover Oaks was voted “Best Doggie Daycare Program” by Houston Press, Houston PetTalk, Houston A-List, Katy Sun, West University Examiner and Bellaire Examiner

Social Evaluation Application

Approval Process: To be considered, all candidates must be neutered or spayed (except for Junior Daycare), must not be aggressive or have any other excessive behavioral issues, be current on required vaccinations, and using an effective flea & tick preventative. Our staff will contact owners to schedule their pet’s Social Evaluation after receiving the completed application forms and vaccination records. The Social Evaluation assesses the social skills of potential new pets by gradually introducing them to our approved daycare dogs. A pet may be evaluated while it is lodging at Rover Oaks as long as the Social Evaluation application has been submitted and the Social Evaluation appointment has been scheduled prior to the pet’s arrival for lodging. Dogs must at least 4 months old to participate in Junior Daycare and 12 months old to participate in any other daycare program.

Daycare Reservations

Click here to contact our Daycare Team and request a Daycare Reservation. You can also contact them directly at info@catonthemoonshop.com or 00000000 option 5.

Reservations are always required for pets to participate in daycare. A pet may be included in the Cat On The Moon Doggie Daycare program as follows:

(A) Standing Reservation: Pets with Standing Reservations have reservations for a specific day (or days) of the week. The pet attends daycare on the same day (or days) of each consecutive week on an ongoing basis. A requirement for clients who request a Standing Reservation is the purchase of a Daycare Punchcard, which will be punched each time the pet attends daycare.

(B) Daily Call-In: Occasionally, a pet with a Standing Reservation is not able to come to daycare on its designated day, which leaves an “open slot” for that one day. Owners of approved pets (with or without standing reservations) may call Cat On The Moon at 6:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and leave a message inquiring about daycare availability for that day. If a space is available, Rover Oaks will contact the owner by 7:30 a.m.

(C) While Boarding: Pets approved for Doggie Daycare may make a reservation to participate in a Group Play when they are staying at Cat On The Moon overnight.

(D) Walk-ins: On Saturdays and Sundays at Cat On The Moon only. “walk-ins” are welcome. Reservations are always required otherwise.

Daycare Baths

One of the benefits of Doggie Daycare at Cat On The Moon is playing in our large Dog Park. As a result, some pets will get dirty (especially on rainy days) while romping and rolling in the grass and wading pool. Our daycare staff will do their very best to clean up dirty pets before they are picked up by the owners. However, owners should understand that the primary role of our daycare staff is to supervise their pets, and time is not available to provide a thorough bath before sending pets home. As an alternative, pet owners may contact the front desk to schedule a “Daycare Bath” in the Grooming Salon. Baths begin around 12:00 p.m. and are usually completed by 5:30 p.m. Owners should understand that their pet could become dirty once again if allowed to return to Doggie Daycare after a bath.
